 About the role
 We are looking for a reliable and caring Laundry Assistant to join our team at MHA. This is an important role, helping to ensure residents’ clothing, bedding and linen are cleaned to a high standard, while always respecting dignity, privacy and personal choice.
 As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a key part in maintaining a safe, hygienic and comfortable environment for residents, supporting their wellbeing and helping them feel at home.
 What you will do
 <ul>
 <li>Operate laundry equipment safely and in line with training and manufacturer guidance.</li>
 <li>Sort, wash, dry and iron residents’ clothing, bedding and linen, following care labels and instructions.</li>
 <li>Safely manage infected laundry and prevent cross-contamination in line with infection control procedures.</li>
 <li>Distribute clean laundry to residents’ rooms and linen cupboards, reporting unidentified items as needed.</li>
 <li>Carry out basic mending and identify items requiring dry cleaning.</li>
 <li>Maintain cleanliness and tidiness within the laundry area and ensure equipment is clean and well maintained.</li>
 <li>Follow COSHH, manual handling, health &amp; safety and infection prevention requirements at all times.</li>
 <li>Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and choice.</li>
 <li>Attend training, supervision, appraisals and staff meetings as required.</li>

 About you
 We are looking for someone who is dependable, organised and takes pride in their work.
 You will bring:
 <ul>
 <li>Previous experience of laundry work (desirable).</li>
 <li>Good communication and listening skills.</li>
 <li>The ability to follow instructions and prioritise tasks effectively.</li>
 <li>A positive, flexible approach to work.</li>
 <li>Sensitivity to the needs of older people and a commitment to quality service.</li>
 <li>Willingness to undertake training and development.</li>
 <li>A QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health &amp; Social Care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.</li>
